How to check and clean cells (electrode)

Salt cells must be free of scale build-up to work efficiently. Inspect the salt cell to determine if it is clean or has scale build-up.

  • Switch off the pump and remove the electrode or complete cell in its housing.
  • Rinse the cell with water.
  • Fill the cell cleaning container with premixed cleaning solution and immerse cell plates, ensuring full coverage.
  • Soak cell plates until all scale build-up has dissolved and the plates are free of scale, if necessary refresh the solution if bubbling ceases.
  • Once clean, rinse cell plates with water and reinstall.
  • Turn the pump on and check chlorinator is producing satisfactorily.
