Why regular water testing is important

Clean, healthy pool water is achieved by a combination of factors working in harmony, namely, correct water balance, sanitation, and effective filtration.

Free chlorine must be available in sufficient quantities to take care of the demands placed on it and pH must be maintained within the 7.2 to 7.6 range to ensure bather comfort. Regular pH control also contributes to water clarity and chlorine effectiveness.

Pool owners should test chlorine and pH levels at least once per week and adjust accordingly.

Monthly water testing by a pool service professional of alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabiliser, salt, total dissolved solids and any other factors relevant to the water treatment is recommended.
