Why you must check your water levels
Your pool water level should be maintained at about three-quarters of the way up the height of the skimmer box opening.
In dry, windy weather pools can lose considerable amounts of water through evaporation, so make sure you’re regularly monitoring your water level and topping up as necessary.
What happens if your water level gets too low?
Low water levels can cause water to vortex in the skimmer and allow air to be sucked into the system. This can cause issues like:
- Pumps running dry putting you at risk of burning out your pool pump.
- Chlorinators automatically turning off because of poor water flow across the cell.
- Getting an airlock in the system
